Academic Writing Services

Twelve academic support services with published prices, from a £25 Turnitin similarity review to £1,599 doctoral research support. Most students need one or two of these rather than a package, and the section below sorts them by the stage you are actually at rather than by what costs most.

Every price on this page is the real price. We publish them because quote-only pricing in this market is usually set by how urgent an enquiry sounds, and because a student who can see the rates can pick the cheapest thing that solves their problem. That is frequently a £99 statistical interpretation rather than the full package they came looking for.

Which service you need, by stage

Work down this list and stop at the first line that describes you. It will usually be cheaper than a package.

  1. 1No approved topic yet. Research proposal, £99. Getting the question narrow enough saves more time than anything else here.
  2. 2Reading done, chapter will not cohere. Literature review support, £149.
  3. 3Data collected, cannot analyse it. Data analysis, from £99 for Excel to £189 for Python.
  4. 4Output produced, cannot write it up. Statistical interpretation, £99. Much cheaper than re-running analysis you already have.
  5. 5Draft complete, reads badly. Editing and proofreading, £12 per 1,000 words.
  6. 6Draft complete, structure feels wrong. Structural review, scoped within the dissertation packages below.
  7. 7Citations are a mess. Referencing audit, £39.
  8. 8Worried about similarity before submission. Turnitin review, £25.
  9. 9Presenting or defending. Presentation design £79, viva preparation £149.

Dissertation packages

Package pricing covers support across a whole project rather than a single stage. Where you land in each band depends on word count and how much is already drafted: a finished draft needing structural review and editing sits at the lower end.

You receive a tracked-changes version and a clean version. Every substantive change carries a comment explaining the reasoning, so you can accept or reject each one and defend the result rather than accepting changes you do not understand.

What is permitted, and what is not

Being direct about this is more useful than the ambiguity common in this market. The line is authorship: who produced the argument, the analysis and the words that are submitted.

  • Permitted at almost every UK university: proofreading and editing within policy, statistical support, structural feedback on a draft, help interpreting a brief or rubric, referencing correction, study skills support, and viva rehearsal. Most institutions provide versions of these themselves.
  • Misconduct everywhere: submitting work written by someone else, whether purchased, borrowed or generated.

We work on the first side of that line. If you ask us for something on the other side, we will tell you rather than taking the money. Many universities also ask you to declare editorial assistance, which is routine: because you retain the research and the argument, there is nothing to conceal.

Frequently asked questions

What academic services do you offer and what do they cost?

Research proposal £99, literature review £149, undergraduate dissertation support from £499, master’s from £899, PhD research support from £1,599, data analysis from £99, statistical interpretation £99, editing and proofreading £12 per 1,000 words, referencing £39, Turnitin similarity review £25, presentation design £79, and viva preparation £149.

Which service do I actually need?

Work down by stage. No approved topic yet: research proposal, £99. Reading done but the chapter will not cohere: literature review, £149. Data collected but not analysed: data analysis, from £99. Output produced but not written up: statistical interpretation, £99. Draft complete but reads badly: editing, £12 per 1,000 words. Submitted and facing a viva: viva preparation, £149.

Is using an academic support service allowed?

Proofreading, editing, statistical support, referencing correction and structural feedback are permitted at almost every UK university, and most institutions provide versions of them internally. Submitting work authored by someone else is misconduct everywhere. We work on the permitted side and will scope to your institution’s policy if you send it.

Do you cover my subject?

Business and management, law, marketing, psychology, nursing and health, education, economics and finance, computer science, engineering, statistics and HR. If your topic is highly specialised, ask before ordering and we will say honestly whether we have the right person rather than taking the work regardless.

How quickly can you turn work around?

Proofreading a 10,000 word dissertation takes two to three working days, and 60,000 words takes five to seven. Data analysis is three to seven days depending on the dataset. Structural reviews take three to five. If a deadline is not achievable we will say so rather than charging more for a rushed job.

Do you offer discounts for multiple services?

Services bought together at the same stage are scoped as one piece of work rather than summed, so a referencing audit alongside proofreading costs less than the two listed separately. Tell us everything you need at once rather than ordering piecemeal.

How experienced are your writers?

The team has six years operating in academic and professional writing support, with subject specialists holding master’s and doctoral qualifications in the disciplines they cover. Statistical work is handled by people who use the software professionally rather than by generalists.

How we work, and what stays yours

WritingBays provides research support: structural feedback, editing and proofreading, data analysis and statistical interpretation, referencing correction, reference-only model exemplars, and viva preparation. We do not sell work for submission as your own. Your research question, your argument and your conclusions remain yours, which is what makes the support defensible in a viva and compliant with your institution’s academic conduct policy. If you are unsure what your university permits, check its academic integrity guidance before ordering and we will scope the work to fit.
